U.S. Army Reserve drill sergeants with the 98th Training Division (Initial Entry Training) have a unique mission at Fort Jackson, South Carolina.
As part of Task Force Marshall, these drill sergeants provide Soldiers and Navy Individual Augmentees a three-week basic combat refresher course prior to deploying overseas. This critical pre-deployment training is provided to more than 1100 Soldiers and 4500 Sailors each year, ensuring each servicemember is mission ready and capable.
