The Alaska Federation of Natives conducted a ceremony for Lt.Gen. Wilsbach to honor his service and commitment to the Native community. Three tribes (Yup'ik, Tlingit, and Inupiat) gave him a Native name. This is the first time in Alaska Native history a U.S. Armed forces General has been given multiple Native names. The ceremony also included an exchanging of gifts, a cultural performance by Pumyua, and sincere remarks. The ceremony took place on 21 August, 2018 at the Fireweed Convention Center, Anchorage, Alaska.
