The 1st Expeditionary Rescue Group (ERQG) executes a simulated aircraft crash scenario during combat search and rescue training exercise at a dirt landing strip in Iraq, July 15, 2018. Video footage includes the 1st ERQG medical team preparing simulated injuries for 22 volunteers that Battlefield Airmen from the 52nd Expeditionary Rescue Squadron perform advanced battlefield emergency medicine training on. The Battlefield Airmen then evacuate the role players by loading them onto HH-60s with the 46th Expeditionary Rescue Squadron. The 1st Expeditionary Rescue Group is responsible for executing full spectrum personnel recovery operations at the direction of the combined forces air component commander as the foundation for the United States Central Command theater personnel recovery posture.
