Soldiers from 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division from Fort Wainwright Alaska arrived on Joint Base Lewis-McChord for Exercise Courage Ready 18-02. Courage Ready is an Emergency Deployment Readiness Exercise (EDRE). The Soldiers trained with Soldiers from 4th Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division during the two-week long exercise.
Readiness is the Army's number one priority, and exercises like Courage Ready 18-02 prepare units to be able to rapidly assemble and deploy with little to no notice.
