Coast Guard Petty Officer 3rd Class Nathan Bruckenthal, a damage controlmen and boarding team member serving aboard the USS Firebolt in 2004, was killed in the Persian Gulf when he and six other coalition sailers attempted to board a vessel coming too close to an Iraqi oil terminal.
