On July 15, 1918, German enemy forces launched their last offensive during World War I. Germany was met by the courageous Soldiers of the 3rd Division on the Marne River.
During the Second Battle of the Marne, the medical personnel were in the trenches with the 3rd Division. During that battle, the medics attached to the 3rd Division triaged and bandaged over 3,000 wounded American and Allied troops. The 3rd Division became known as the Rock of the Marne during that final assault.
U.S. Army Medical Department Activity Fort Stewart proudly salutes the legacy of the 3rd Infantry Division by holding a re-dedication ceremony for the North Troop Medical Clinic. Photojournalist Zach Rehnstrom has the Story.
