While troops are no longer going on combat missions in Iraq, there is still work to be done. At Camp Taji, soldiers from the 321st Sustainment Brigade are part of Task Force Warrior, with the mission of advising and assisting the Iraqi army with improving their logistical and sustainment capabilities at facilities throughout the Camp Taji area.
In addition to logistical skills, the soldiers of the 321st bring a wealth of mechanical expertise. Though the language barrier must be bridged by interpreters, the cultural differences are often bridged through the sharing of a cup of chai. It’s a simple sign of friendship and the mutual respect of professional soldiers.
From Camp Taji Iraq, I’m Sergeant First Class Lisa Rodriguez-Presley
