In this feature video, a Ramstein C-130J Super Hercules pilot talks about participating in the 74th anniversary of D-Day.
"As an aviator, to fly over the same areas that aircraft flew in World War II, I never imagined that I would participate in something with such a historical impact and historical reference and it was amazing to take part in something that is etched in our minds as one of the greatest generations of fighters in WWII..." -- U.S. Air Force Capt. Kyle Foley, 37th Airlift Squadron, Ramstein Air Base, Germany
Memorial flights were conducted across the Normandy region prior to an airdrop over Sainte-Mère-Église, to include formations over former battlefields such as Omaha Beach and Pointe Du Hoc.
The 37th Airlift Squadron is historically linked to and descends from the 316th Troop Carrier Group, a vital World War II participant.
