Baltimore native Marine Sgt. Joshua P. Lengrand, of the 2nd Law Enforcement Battalion, II Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, participates in international training exercise Tradewinds 2018 in St. Kitts and Nevis. Lengrand and his fellow Marines are training soldiers from the over 20 Caribbean partner nation participants in close quarters battle, vehicle and entry point search procedures, and building clearing tactics. Lengrand, a military police member, has served in the Marines for five years and is a lead instructor for the joint training exercise. Phase one of the exercise began in St. Kitts June 4, 2018, and will conclude June 12, 2018. Phase two will be held in the Bahamas and phase three will take place in Miami, Fl. Tradewinds is an exercise designed to conduct joint, combined, and interagency partner-nation capacity building, focused on increasing regional cooperation in complex multinational security operations and humanitarian assistance and disaster response operations.
