A U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III from the Mississippi Air National Guard's 172nd Airlift Wing transported injured children and their guardians to Galveston, Texas, for medical treatment at Shriners Hospital for Children. The humanitarian airlift aeromedical evacuation mission was conducted at the direction of U.S. Southern Command to assist the government of Guatemala following the recent eruption of Fuego Volcano.
