Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton hosts the 10th Annual Recon Challenge, bringing together reconnaissance Marines and corpsmen from across the world to compete in a team race and pay tribute to their fallen on May 17, 2018. The Recon Challenge consists of eight checkpoints, each testing competitors' physical and mental limits over a 25-mile trek which included a 1,000-yard open ocean swim, programming a PRC-117 radio, completing an obstacle course, retrieving tires from a pool, and shooting on a rifle range.
