On Friday, May 11th, 2018, JBSA-Ft. Sam Houston’s post chapel hosted a memorial service for Army Major Donald G. Carr. He served during the Vietnam War as a member of a highly secretive unit known as Military Assistance Command Vietnam – Studies and Observations Group (MACV-SOG). He was declared to be missing in action in 1971. His remains were located in 2014 and his identity was verified by the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency in 2016.
