A soldier tells how he assisted a soldier who reached out in preventing suicidal or homicidal action from taking place.
Spot script from SGT Anderson: we were having a PT session, it was an early morning like a Tuesday, and about midway through, a service member brought me to the side, and you know he told me, he was feeling like he was either going to hurt himself or others. That’s when I took action and brought it up to my leadership. We eventually got that soldier help that day; immediately, like within the hour, and from there he progressed and is doing a lot better right now. I really feel like that gives me a lot of pride to know you’ve potentially saved another soldiers life. You need to pay attention to that person to know that whenever he or she is just off just enough you know something is wrong. And you know everyone has their days, but that comes with knowing your soldiers.
