Blending into your environment takes dedication and skill, two British Army snipers show us how it’s done.

Whatever their environment, British Army snipers need to blend in. They use various methods of concealment, from breaking up the body shape with a ghillie suit to moving slowly and methodically. A sniper might change camouflage several times before reaching their target. You could pass within five meters of a sniper without knowing they’re there.

This piece includes various shots of a two-man sniper team performing camouflage and concealment drills in snowy woodlands near Tapa, Estonia.

The British Army are in Estonia as part of NATO’s enhanced Forward Presence in the region.
