Tech Sgt. Phillip Dyer, 366th Training Squadron Det. 3 Explosive Ordnance Disposal instructor, was awarded the Airman's Medal for risking his own life to save his neighbor, a double amputee, during a 2015 flash flood in Missouri. Brig. Gen. Ronald Jolly Sr., visited the 82nd Training Wing detachment at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, March 9, 2018, to present the medal & recognize Dyer for his courage.
