    Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort

    A ceremony is held for the unveiling of William Pinckney's new headstone at the Beaufort National Cemetery Feb. 10. Pinckney was awarded the Navy Cross for his actions during World War II. However, until today, his headstone did not reflect the Navy Cross insignia. Pinckney was one of four African American Sailors to recievethe Navy Cross, the nation's second highest award for valor, during WWII. (U.S. Marine Corps video by Cpl. Parker R. Golz and Lance Cpl.
