CHARLESTON, S.C. — Coast Guard crews rescued three boaters Saturday near St. Helena Sound.
The boaters 41-foot vessel, My Gal Sal, began taking on water after becoming disabled.
Coast Guard Sector Charleston Command Center watchstanders received notification from Tow Boat U.S. of the vessel taking on water at 7 p.m. Watchstanders launched a Coast Guard Air Station Savannah MH-65 Dolphin rescue helicopter crew and hoisted the boaters at 8:45 p.m. They were taken to Air Station Savannah at 9:13 p.m.
The boaters were reported to be in good condition.
The boat has been secure by Tow Boat U.S. and will be salvaged Sunday.
A Coast Guard Station Charleston 45-foot Response Boat—Medium crew also responded to the incident.
