Coast Guard contractors remove an oil tank from under a dilapidated pier on the Columbia River just west of the Cannery Pier Hotel & Spa in Astoria, Jan. 30, 2018.

The 10,000 gallon oil tank was the source of an oil spill reported January 18, and had been under the pier since approximately the mid 1900s when it was used to heat a boiler for a seafood cannery.
