The flood control pumping facility aboard Camp Pendleton, Calif., is responsible for collecting run-off water, limit the potential damage of coastal and inland flooding, and protect lowland areas. The station can process up to 720,000 gallons of water per minute. Since 1993, the installation has made major improvements, including a 10,000 feet long concrete levee.
