A United States Air Force HH-60 Pave Hawk and two United States Army CH-47 Chinooks conducted a joint flight Oct. 22, 2017, in preparation for the CH-47 taking over for the HH-60. The 83rd Expeditionary Rescue Squadron, which has been strictly U.S. Air Force personnel, will be a joint unit containing Air Force pararescuemen and combat rescue officers and U.S. Army helicopters and pilots.
