The National Weather Service's (NWS) River Forecasting Center (RFC) is forecasting Bank full or higher flows for the Walla Walla River near Touchet and Mill Creek. Please inform others as needed to be alert to changing river conditions over the holiday weekend. Water Management will be monitoring the situation as we move forward and will be ready to act as necessary. Flows in Mill Creek over 1,400 cfs, are being diverted into Bennington Lake in accordance with the Mill Creek Water Control Manual and the recreation area will be unavailable at that time. Please be advised that people should not be near the Walla Walla River or Mill Creek during this time as high flow events often happen quickly and can put people in danger. Please contact the Walla Walla District Water Management office at 509-527-7283 between 08:30 and 17:00 if there are any questions during normal business hours.

All Roads and Trails are closed for Public Safety, In Case of Emergency Please Dial 911.

Thanks for your time and attention, have a safe and fun New Year’s weekend
