USACE activated another microgrid system for the town of Patillas, Puerto Rico. Patillas was one of the first hit by Hurricane Maria and due to the destruction to the power infrastructure USACE, FEMA and PREPA determined a microgrid would provide immediate power until full repairs can be made.
The first micro grid activated in Puerto Rico was on the Island of Culebra. USACE also activated microgrids in Naguabo and Maunabo, Puerto Rico before the Christmas holiday.
