171206-N-NU281-0003 PEARL HARBOR (Dec. 6, 2017) A video showcasing Chief Hospital Corpsman Joshua Saniel, this year's Peter Tomich award winner. The Peter Tomich Award is named after a Chief Watertender who served aboard USS Utah during WWII. When the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, the Utah was hit directly and Tomich stayed on board to secure the boilers to keep them from exploding so that his shipmates could safely escape.
