    Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni

U.S. Marines and Master Labor Contractors with the Logistics Department Fuels Division utilized the Aircraft Direct Fueling System (ADFS) during a hot refuel with the new system at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, Oct. 26, 2017. The ADFS allows the aircraft to rotate crew, take on cargo or Marines and keep its engines running while accepting fuel. This training marked the first MV-22 Osprey refueling evolution at the new hot-refueling pit. The pit is designed to distribute fuel to Type-4 aircraft such as the KC-130J Hercules, MV-22 Osprey and MH-60 Seahawk. (U.S. Marine Corps video by Cpl. Carlos Jimenez)
