B-roll package of the first house in the city of Ponce, Puerto Rico, to receive a temporary roof from FEMA. Operation Blue Roof is a free service to homeowners. Operation Blue Roof protects property, reduces temporary housing costs, and allows residents to remain in their homes while recovering from the storm.
The purpose of Operation Blue Roof is to provide homeowners in disaster areas with fiber-reinforced sheeting to cover their damaged roofs until arrangements can be made for permanent repairs.
The program is administered by by with the US Army Corps of Engineers executing the program using private contractors.
