Members from the 49th Theater Gateway, 297th Regional Support Group, Alaska Army National Guard, conducted a deployment ceremony Oct. 13 prior to leaving for a year-long deployment to the Middle East. The Soldiers were joined by family members, friends and fellow Soldiers of the Alaska National Guard to say farewell. During their time in the Middle East, the 49th will assist with theater gateway operations, ensuring service members are processed into and out of theater operations throughout the region.
