U.S. Navy Sailors, assigned to Navy Expeditionary Combat Command units, and U.S. Marines, assigned to Fleet Anti-Terrorism Security Team Pacific, participate in the first-ever Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) with Sri Lanka Navy Sailors and Marines at the Naval Base in Trincomalee, Sri Lanka, Oct. 2-6, 2017. CARAT 2017 is a series of annual maritime exercises between the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps and the armed forces of partner nations to include Bangladesh, Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Thailand and Timor-Leste.
