For years, intelligence analysts hoping to extract useful information from open-source media had no choice but to manually sort through hundreds or even thousands of items a day. Now, analysts have PANTHER—the Predictive Analysis Network Tool for Human knowledge Elicitation and Reasoning.
Developed by Decisive Analytics Corporation with support from the Air Force Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program, PANTHER is a data fusion tool that uses algorithms to process, sort, and flag data so intelligence personnel can focus their time and energy on in-depth analysis. The technology is now part of the military’s emerging common intelligence platform, and could also have broad commercial application in such areas as the financial sector, agriculture, corporate security, and retail.
DAC’s technology is just one of many successful innovations enabled by the US Air Force’s SBIR and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs.
