US Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District was out at the Guterl Steel site in Lockport, NY September 19, 2017 doing their annual groundwater sampling. The site is a "Formerly Utilized Site Remedial Action Program" (FUSRAP) location, which is on a list of hazardous sites to be cleaned up for future use. The team also took some samples along the Erie Canal near the steel mill.
