The Oregon Air National Guard’s 142nd Fighter Wing Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Unit trained with Oregon State Police Bomb Squad and other local agencies, September 26, 2017.
5 members of the Oregon State Police bomb squad and 4 members of the Salem Police bomb squad spent Tuesday morning and afternoon with the Oregon Air National Guardsmen, being trained by the Airmen. The 142nd EOD unit trained the other bomb squads how to detect and render safe, or disarm, victim-operated improvised explosive devises. This is the first time this specific joint training has been conducted, however, the 142nd Fighter Wing EOD unit hopes to make this an annual event.
