The U.S. Air Force Reserve’s 403rd Wing sent an 815th Airlift Squadron C-130J Super Hercules aircrew to MacDill Air Force Base, Florida today to support relief operations for Hurricane Maria. The 815th AS crew stage there with C-130 and C-17 Globemaster III aircraft from other units to assist with recovery efforts in Puerto Rico, which was devastated by Hurricane Maria Sept. 21, 2017. According to Capt. Michael Plash, 815th AS pilot and aircraft commander, they will be supporting aeromedical evacuation operations transporting people from hospitals in Puerto Rico back to U.S. facilities.
