CAMP H.M. SMITH, Hawaii (Sept. 15, 2107)—Adm. Harry Harris, commander of U.S. Pacific Command (PACOM) becomes an honorary chief during the fiscal year 2018 chief pining ceremony for PACOM, Special Operations Command-Pacific, PACOM Defense Intelligence Agency Detachment and PACOM Joint Intelligence Operations Command. Only the Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy can authorize recognition of the title Honorary Chief. Officers who have served the collective CPO community may be considered for recognition.
