    Coast Guardsmen from the Coast Guard Cutter Stratton homeported in Alameda, California, and a Coast Guard Helicopter Interdiction Tactical Squadron from Jacksonville, Florida, interdict a suspected drug smuggling vessel several hundred miles southwest of Mexico, Aug. 7, 2017. The Coast Guardsmen apprehended four suspected smugglers and seized more than 2,000 pounds of cocaine from the vessel. Coast Guardsmen are part of whole-of-government efforts both at home and abroad to reduce the supply of illegal drugs, dismantle dangerous criminal organizations and reduce demand in America through education, prevention and treatment.
