Schneider Regional Medical Center, the only hospital on St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, suffered significant damages from Hurricane Irma. The 185-mph winds caused the hospital's roof to collapse, resulting in flooding and overall destruction throughout the building. The U.S. military is currently building a temporary hospital to treat patients in a nearby parking lot and will continue to support the lead federal agency, FEMA, as well as the state and local authorities in disaster relief efforts.
