STARBASE Austin, a Department of Defense-funded program that encourages children to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math, opened its 5th summer camp at Camp Mabry in Austin, Texas. The STEM program caters to 5th graders in at-risk neighborhoods where funding or materials may not be available to the children. This allows for a positive, drug free environment for the children to learn and peak their interest in STEM as they grow.
