During World War II, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, was home to several hundred German prisoners of war. Between 1943 and 1946, the prisoners painted three murals in Building 280 on Area A that span 160 feet wide and 25 feet high. Wright-Patterson is currently exploring options to preserve the murals.
