This episode of the Paratus Report covers info on qualified applicants to be company commanders, extra Service Wide Exam points and fertility treatment weight exemptions.
Looking for qualified candidates for company commanders:
The Coast Guard is looking to the field to find highly motivated leaders to train our future enlisted workforce. To learn more about what it takes to become a company commander check out this link: https://cg.portal.uscg.mil/sites/externaldata/Directives/CIM_1000_8A.pdf
Extra Service Wide Exam points:
A little extra incentive to become a company commander – you are eligible to receive an extra point toward your Service Wide Exam final multiple! You can also get the extra point if you are a boatswain’s mate who has passed an officer in charge board. If you can check both those boxes, you get two points. Fertility treatment weight exemption:
Many Coast Guard members use assisted reproductive services and male hormone replacement therapy to expand their families. Because some of these treatments and medications may cause members to exceed body fat standards, they may qualify for a new weight exemption.
