Saber Guardian River crossing at Bordusani by 2nd Cavalry Regiment, (part of Dragoon Guardian 2017) together with the Romanian army (exercise Argedava Saber 17 LIVEX)
The exercise uses a fictitious scenario, where European countries are successively aggressed with the intention to gain control over the economic activities of the Black Sea region countries. The enemy is in contact with the Romanian forces at Focsani Gate, approximately 80km north of the location. An enemy airborne Battalion was dropped in the early morning into the 2nd Infantry Division rear area of operation, and took the control over the Danube river main bridges, in support of the offensive operation. The offensive operation consists of four phases: movement to contact, assault, exploit and secure. An assault across the rover supported by an airborne assault. Once the battalion bridgehead established, the armed forces will cross the bridge provided by the engineer brigade and will continue the offensive operation.
