On Thursday, July 13, 2017, Camp Shelby is celebrating its centennial year with a military salute at Lake Terrace Convention Center in Hattiesburg, Miss. Beginning at 6 p.m., an elegant evening is planned to commemorate those who have served and been a part of the Camp Shelby Joint Forces Training Center. This night will recognize military leadership and feature guest speaker Joe Galloway, author of "We Were Soldiers." It will also include performances by The Victory Belles. Come together with soldiers and civilian friends for an unforgettable night of music, food, and fellowship. Dress is formal attire.
On Saturday, July 15, 2017, Camp Shelby will host a Family Day Centennial Celebration at the base. The event is free and open to the public starting at 9 a.m. and will feature aviation demonstrations and displays, Special Forces demonstrations, WWII period re-enactors, performances by The Victory Belles and Travis Clark, food vendors, kids' activities, and much much more.
