Iron Sniper 17: Tough realistic training improves Soldier readiness. Iron Soldiers assigned to 1st Armored Division pushed their skill sets to the limit while competing in the division’s Iron Sniper competition June 12-15, 2017 at Fort Bliss, El Paso Texas.
The grueling week of a full-kit run, an unknown distance ruck march with about 50 pounds, multiple shooting events where Soldiers engaged targets up to 1,100 meters away and a 4K stalk lane challenged these highly-trained Soldiers.
Sgt. Justin Moench and Spc. Jacob Kehler, assigned to 1st Battalion, 6th Infantry Regiment earned top honors as the division's best sniper team. They’ll represent the division at the U.S. Army International Sniper Competition at Fort Benning, Ga.
The 1AD is home to America's Tank Division.
