Members of the Belize Defence Force and the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force conduct simulated raids as part of Exercise Tradewinds 2017, June 13, 2017, in Trinidad and Tobago. This annual exercise, sponsored by U.S. Southern Command, is conducted to increase the interoperability of the 20 nations involved and their ability to counter transnational organized crime and terrorism, and conduct humanitarian assistance or disaster relief operations. U.S. Marines from Marine Corps Forces, South and Combat Logistics Battalion-23, 4th Marine Logistics Group, are providing the logistical support for phase II of Tradewinds operating out of Chaguaramas, Trinidad and Tobago.
