In Lithuania, a ceremony has taken place to officially welcome the arrival of new NATO troops. Soldiers from Belgium, the Czech Republic, Croatia, France, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Norway, together with Lithuanian soldiers, will be forming one multi-national German-led battalion. Three other such battalions will be based in Estonia, Latvia and Poland, as part of NATO’s Enhanced Forward Presence. The four battalions will come under NATO command. Footage includes GVs of the ceremony, which was attended by Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaitė, Lithuania’s Chief of Defense Lieutenant General Jonas Vytautas Žukas, Germany’s Minister of Defense Ursula von der Leyen and the Commander of Joint Force Command-Bunssum, General Salvatore Farina.
