Saturday 3rd June 2017, Dutch aircraft landed in Sibiu Airport with 127 Dutch soldiers on board. The KDC 10 from Royal Netherlands Air Force comes from Eindhoven, Netherlands,. This plane is the largest Dutch Air Force plane and one of its two air-to-air refueling (AAR) aircraft. This tanker is also used for combined strategic transport of passengers and cargo even simultaneously with AAR.
This contingent is the main body of Dutch forces expected by the forward element in Romania. Logisticians, medical team, support unit, Gendarmerie, Army and sailors from Dutch Marines Corps are part of the passengers. The Dutch Joint Unit will join other NATO troops in the training area in Cincu by bus convoy. The majority of their heavy equipment already arrived the day before by train convoy.

More than 150 Dutch soldiers are deployed for NATO exercise NOBLE JUMP 2017.
