Floods, Tornadoes, earthquakes, Ice Storms, Civil Unrest. You name it and the Missouri Air National Guard will be there. The men and women of the 131st Bomb Wing are highly trained citizen airmen that are prepared for both their state and federal missions.
Nearly 400 Citizen Soldiers from the 131st Bomb Wing spent their annual training at National Guard Post Camp Clark. The training camp provides realistic scenarios to prepare guardsman for what they could see during state emergency duty. Many of these Guardsmen and women were called up just weeks before for the major flooding in the East side of the state and the Missouri bootheel in late April.
This is the fourth year the 131st has attended Camp Clark for its Annual Training. The 131st Maintenance group introduced the camp training concept in 2014 and it has taken off as a great way to get trained up and also meet people within other shops and from across the wing, which operates from three Missouri locations.
Camp Clark provides the opportunity for guardsman to gain experience in disaster response.
The Air National Guard will meet today’s challenges by shaping combat ready, adaptable Airmen. Missouri Guardsmen have the unique mission to not only defend freedom worldwide, but to also help and serve America at home/
Training camps such as Camp Clark keep the 131st Guardsman ready for their state missions.
