U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Maj. Lee D. Bonar relinquished his duties as the III Marine Expeditionary Force sergeant major to Sgt. Maj. Mario A. Marquez during a relief and appointment ceremony held on Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, May 12, 2017. Bonar, a Wheeling, West Virginia-native, has served as the III MEF sergeant major since 2014 and will be retiring after 32 years of service. Marquez was previously the 1st Marine Aircraft Wing sergeant major.
