10th Combat Aviation Brigade, 10th Mountain Division (LI), continued its week of aerial gunnery to qualify aviators in preparation for future Atlantic Resolve missions and training. 2-10 Assault Helicopter Battalion completed their range activities at Grafenwoehr Training Area, Germany, from April 8-9.
"Being a crew chief requires you to do five or six things, all at once, pretty much all the time," said Pfc. Brayden Stillion, a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter crew chief with A Company, 2-10 Assault Helicopter Battalion. "You've got four radios going off in your head, you've got to clear the aircraft of all obstacles, maintain safety of your weapon, make sure its loading that ammunition and keep eyes on targets, while making sure all your PAX are safe and sound."
Later in the week, 3-10 General Support Aviation Battalion will be honing their skills and getting qualified on their weapons in the air.
