Retired Lt. Col. Richard E. Cole was honored by members of the 319th Special Operations Squadron during a building dedication ceremony April 7, 2017. Cole is the last surviving Doolittle Raider and was then-Lt. Col. James H. Doolittle’s co-pilot during the Raid on Tokyo, Special Mission number 1. Cole’s Air Force roots date back to the origination of the 319th SOS.
