U-S and Gulf Cooperation Council forces stormed Kuwait’s Al Shuwaikh Port in the culmination event of exercise Eagle Resolve 2017. In a lightning fast amphibious assault, coalition forces responded to a terrorist attack in the Gulf. Terrorist seized four buildings and attempted to take control of the port. In a scenario ripped from the headlines, U-S and GCC forces gave tactical demonstrations on land, air and sea. Capabilities on display included counter-terrorism, search and rescue, border security, and countering a chemical threat. Military-to-military engagements like Eagle Resolve demonstrate the value of working in unfamiliar environments and organizational interoperability. Brig. Gen. Ralph H. Groover III: This exercise is all about building capacity and capability of each of our nations that are participating. We are stronger together as a group than we are individually. This was just another demonstration of how we can come together and act as a force.Since 1999, Eagle Resolve has become the leading engagement between the U-S and G-C-C nations. For U-S Army Central, I’m staff sergeant Francis O’Brien.
