    49th Wing

March 19, 2017 marks the 28th Annual Bataan Memorial Death March. Approximately 7,200 military members and civilians made their way to U.S. Army White Sands Missile Range, to march along the 14.2 or 26.2 mile course. This year is the 75th Anniversary of the 65 mile trek through the scorching Philippine jungle, made by 75,000 American and Filipino soldiers during World War II. These soldiers were deprived of food, water, and medical care; thousands died along the way. This event pays tribute to the unfathomable sacrifices made by the soldiers of Bataan, and honors their bravery and perseverance.
