U.S. Marine Corps Col. James B. Wellons, commanding officer, and Sgt. Maj. Thomas W. Foster, squadron Sgt. Maj. of Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron One (MAWTS-1) address Marines and Sailors augmented to support Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI) course 2-17 at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Ariz., March 22, 2017. WTI is a seven week training event hosted by MAWTS-1 cadre. MAWTS-1 provides standardized advanced tactical training and certification of unit instructor qualifications to support Marine Aviation Training and Readiness and assists in developing and employing aviation weapons and tactics.
